The Bon Air Apartments, located at 21 W 16th Street, were born in 1922 when Indianapolis was booming and littered with low rise buildings of many turn of the century styles. The three nearly identical buildings survived for nearly 90 years before spiraling into a state of disrepair and vacancy. Located at the outer edge of the city center, as investment in downtown living shot up, a developer purchased the dilapidated site with the intent of returning the buildings to their former glory. The project includes complete rehabilitation and reconfiguration of the units to provide for modern amenities in a turn of the century setting.
