Halstead Architect's preliminary design for the renovation and addition to the Stetson Senior Apartments seeked to provide a prominent icon for the Mapleton/Fall Creek Neighborhood of Indianapolis. Future renovations will not only serve the housing needs of the neighborhood but will also support the community revitalization currently taking place and we believe it will spawn even more interest in the neighborbood.



The former school building which most recently housed the St. Christopher Daycare Center contains 24 classroom bays around a center gymnasium with a raised stage at one end. The renovation of the bulding into senior apartments will utilize 15 of the classroom bays as two-bedroom units. Due to demolition of several classroom bays by the previous owner, 12 one-bedroom units will be available on the first floor. The existing gymnasium will serve as a Common Area for the new tenants. A building addition to the north of the facilty will provide additional living spaces for a total of 47 units.
