The Jennings Building, built in 1877, is located 1/2 block
from the Henry County Courthouse. The building is currently being restored
for new retail, offices, and housing.
Phase 1 - Completed
We have performed existing field measurements to accomodate the building
being re-roofed and full window replacement, which stabilized the building
saving it from condemnation by the City of New Castle
Phase 2 - In Progress
We performed a preliminary feasiblity study to evaluate the merits of
the building relative to the possibility of developing the building into
a mixed use facility for retail on the first floor, commercial on the
second floor and residential on the third floor, with the possibility
of providing an intimate eatery or brewery in the basement (or a combination
of the first floor and basement.) We have completed the feasiblity study,
and are awaiting word back from potential developers as to wheather or
not they want to move forward with a project.
We are working hand-in-hand with Indiana Landmarks (formerly
the Historic Landmarks of Indiana) to salvage a historic gem native to
the commercial fabric of New Castle, Indiana.
