Mike won this round on lanes 5 & 6, but the real highlight was Ryan and Sandra duking it out for a sudden death, opposite hand, playoff 11th round on lane 8. Ryan won with a tie-braking 4 pins after three balls, to Sandra's 3 pins. Congrats!

October 27, 2008 - IJCF Grief & Loss Group Memorial Tree Planting

Students involved in Indianapolis Juvenile Correctional Facility’s (IJCF) Grief and Loss group planted a memorial tree on October 27 in recognition of the losses suffered by both the students and staff at the facility.

The Grief and Loss group planted a Colorado Blue Spruce sapling in honor of both students and staff who’ve experienced a loss. The losses may include death, divorce, relationships, abandonment, sexual and/or physical abuse and pregnancy miscarriage.

IJCF Chaplain Casey-Allen, Michael Halstead, and Grief and Loss Coordinator Lisa Lanham (below left) stand proud of the students’ work. The memorial tree is surrounded by symbolic rocks with students’ loved ones names around the base (below right).

Read the story in the IJCF newsletter PDF.

ACS Walk Finish

Halstead Architects' annual retreat occured at Lake Monroe this year. The office rented a double decker pontoon boat, and we could be found not in our office on this Friday, but in a nice cove relaxing. Garrett Lofton (below) even warmed up to the water once he realized how much fun everyone was having.
